The NABL has added their eighth team for this season when the Muncie (IN) Sportiswar team was confirmed. Headed by Chris Warren, of Sportiswar.com, the team will play a full ten game home schedule in Muncie.
The Sportiswar team recently finished up a collegiate tour against NCAA schools and is ready for action.
"We're thrilled to add the Muncie team to the NABL," said NABL Executive Director Tom Ficara. "With Muncie and Evansville, we have two Indiana teams with deep AAU and NABL roots. They will provide fierce competition for the Kentucky (Owensboro, Frankfort, Lexington) and the Ohio Valley (Charleston, Canton, Steubenville teams."
The NABL will operate with eight teams for the current season. At least 12 additional teams have committed for the 2002-2003 season.
"Joining the NABL is just what we were hoping for," said Muncie sponsor Chris Warren. "The whole NABL concept began in Indiana and we're happy to be playing a big part in its national revival."
Coach, players and othe details will be announced shortly. The Sportiswar will open their NABL season in late January and will be eligible for the AAU National Tournament in Sacramento on April 10-14.
