ALL YOUNG FANS TO BE ADMITTED FREE TO NABL GAMES

The first board of governors meeting of the National Alliance Basketball League has resulted in several decisions, including a league wide policy to admit all youngsters at no charge with a paying adult.

"We were unanimous in this decision,"  said Kentucky Coyotes Governor Terry Hatton."  "We want parents to be able to bring their kids out and get them interested in NABL basketball.  It's an inexpensive night out for the adults and it begins grooming the youngsters to be our paying fans for the future."

The policy begins immediately and replaces all kids premium giveaways that had been planned.  Other decisions included the addition of Louisville to the conference for 2002-2003 and the shifting of Charleston to the Central Conference next year.  With four Kentucky teams in the conference, it has been decided to rename it the Bluegrass Conference for 2002-2003.

Also, the league fixed this years regular season schedule at 16 games, with an increase to 24 games next year.  The regular season will conclude this year on February 19th .

The NABL post season tournament championship game will be held on March 11th in Owensboro at the SportsCenter.

On March 14th the NABL All Stars will play the College All Stars at the Capital Plaza Convention Center in Frankfort.

On April 6th, the NABL Kentucky All Stars will play the Kentucky College All stars at the Kentucky Basketball Academy in Lexington.

97th Annual National Tournament will be played in Sacrament April 10 14.  All four NABL teams will be invited this year.  In future years only the conference champion an post season tournament champion will receive automatic bids.

All four NABL teams are planning foreign tours in May and June.   China, Dominique, Canada, Brazil, and Iceland are countries being discussed by the league.

In July, each NABL team will enter a team in the Owensboro Pro-Am, which plays five games in the weeklong confab.

The NABL season in 2002-2003 will begin with a November 1-15 college tour, in which each NABL team will play 8 games against NCAA division one schools.

From November 16 December 31 the NABL teams will schedule 8 games against NAIA teams.  These games count in the records of both the NAIA schools and the NABL teams.

In January and February 2003 the NABL schedule will increase to 24 conference game
